Peter Leong is the Associate Vice President, Building Sciences for WSP. He is part of the Leadership team and is responsible for the business development, strategic planning, direction, and participates in the management of all divisions within Building Sciences (i.e. Roofing, Façade Engineering, Existing Structures, Property Condition Assessments, Performance Audits and Reserve Fund Studies).

Peter also participates in the development and execution of WSP's vision, strategy and objectives ensuring alignment with the other practice areas of the Buildings Group (i.e. Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Sustainability) across Canada and with all market segments.

Peter began his career as a structural engineer designing office and industrial buildings. Peter then developed over 25 years' experience in building sciences and building envelope engineering. His areas of expertise include building envelopes (roofs, exterior walls and windows) concrete restoration (balconies, walls and parking garages).

Peter has extensive experience in building restoration projects, building condition surveys, capital planning studies and investigation work on projects throughout Canada. He has been involved in numerous Performance Audits, building deficiency claims construction-related litigation and, in Ontario particularly, with the Tarion Warranty Program.

Peter has been involved in the assessment and/or repair of hundreds of buildings across Canada, which includes multi-unit residential structures (all types of high-rises, townhouses, condominiums, co-ops, etc.) office towers, industrial buildings, performing arts centres, arenas and other public facilities.
