Naseer Abbasi

After working in his family business for a number of years, Naseer moved to Canada in 1995.

He realized that serving customers and managing condominiums could provide him the motivation and encouragement he was looking for, and he took the RCM educational courses in 1999 to pursue his career.

Naseer has been managing condos since 2000 and he is working with DEL Property Management. He continues his journey to learn every day in a field that is never short of challenges and continuously evolves. As an ACMO member, Naseer received his RCM in 2005. Naseer is also trained in Alternate Dispute Resolution from Stitt Feld Handy Group to better support his team and customers through difficult times.

Chris Antipas, RCM, ACCI

Chris Antipas is the President & CEO of 360 Community Management and is a veteran in the property management industry having over 2 decades of experience.

Chris has been involved with ACMO and CCI for the past 17 years, sitting on the ACMO Board of Directors for 9 years, including the last two years of his term as President of the Association.

Chris has been instructing the Condominium Law course online for the past 12 years and has taught all four of ACMO's educational courses at either Humber College, Mohawk College or in-house for his companies. He currently sits on a number of ACMO and CCI-T committees.

Ali Arlani, P.Eng

Ali Arlani was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and Registrar of the CMRAO, effective January 15, 2018. Reporting to the Board of Directors, Ali leads the team responsible for the delivery of CMRAO's services to condo communities across the province.

Ali was the Director of the Building and Development Branch of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the Environment and Land Tribunals Ontario. He served as the Assistant Deputy Attorney General for the Agency and Tribunal Relations Division prior to his appointment as the CEO/Registrar of the CMRAO.

Christopher Barbeau

Mr. Belanger is the Founder and President of Belanger Engineering and oversees all projects which are carried out by the firm. He has over 30 years of experience in the investigation and repair of residential, commercial and industrial buildings. This includes work in the fields of building sciences where the physical components and mechanical ventilation, heating and cooling equipment interact. Paul has evaluated the structural and non-structural components of hundreds of buildings through detailed condition surveys and technical audits. He has developed repair and maintenance strategies for many building types.

Joel Berkovitz is an associate in Shibley Righton's Condominium Law and Business Law groups. Joel's condominium law practice includes all aspects of condominium law, with a focus on drafting and negotiating contracts for condominium corporations, advising Boards, corporate governance, and compliance matters. In addition to advising condo clients, Joel sits on the board of directors of his condo corporation. Marc Bhalla is a leading condominium mediator and arbitrator.

He holds the Chartered Mediator designation of the ADR Institute of Canada, which is the most senior designation available to practicing mediators in the country.

Marc also has two arbitration designations - the international MCIArb designation of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Qualified Arbitrator designation of the ADR Institute of Canada.

Marc brings unique insight into mediating and arbitrating condominium conflict through the perspective he has gained as a condominium director, resident and law clerk.  He actively writes about his expertise and has presented across the country at seminars, workshops and conferences. 

Marc serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Toronto & Area Chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute.  He earned an Honour Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto's prestigious Trinity College, holds an Executive Certificate in Conflict Management from the University of Windsor's Faculty of Law and is a member of the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators (SOAR).

Joe Bilé is Manager of Business Development under the Utility Innovation group at Toronto Hydro. Prior to that he was Manager of Conservation Demand Management (CDM) Program Delivery and Business Development.

With over 30 years of experience in the energy management industry Joe's career has spanned such roles as HVAC design engineer, energy engineer, project manager, energy performance contractor, national portfolio energy manager for a major Canadian facility management organization, key account management and business development.

Joe graduated as a mechanical engineer from the University of Waterloo in 1986 and received a MBA with Distinction from the Schulich School of Business in 2004. He is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Anne Burgoon, BSc, RCM

Anne Burgoon is co-owner and vice-president of Eastern Ontario Property Management Group (EOPMG).

Property Management is a second career for Anne. In her previous life, Anne was a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.

Anne has a Bachelor of Science degree, is a Licensed and Registered Condominium Manager. She is a condominium owner, has served as a condominium director and is also on ACMO's Provincial Continuing Education Committee representing Eastern Ontario. She has contributed articles to Condominium Manager Magazine and has been a speaker for ACMO sponsored events. She has recently authored a handbook for Property Managers on Dealing with difficult people.

Danielle has worked with communities in downtown Toronto on Bay St, in Mississauga near Square One Shopping Centre, and is currently serving two high rise communities in Etobicoke where she also manages the shared facilities for those two towers as well as a shared roadway.

Mr. Nicholas Chirametli obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences from the University of Western Ontario and is a Registered Condominium Manger with the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO). He is also a member of the Canadian GreenBuilding Council's Greater Toronto Chapter.

In 2016, Nicholas received the Genesis award from the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario for co-ordinating the evacuation and emergency repairs of several condominiums damaged by a landmark explosion in the City of Mississauga. In 2017, he was a guest speaker at the industry's annual conference where he discussed how property managers can effectively respond to emergencies and provide leadership in emergency situations.

Nicholas is also the Founder and Co-Host of the popular podcast series #WeSpeakCondo,providing education to condominium boards and owners in the form of a free audio entertainment series available on iTunes and Soundcloud.

Harold Cipin, M.Sc., Hons. B.A., RCM

Harold Cipin has been the President of City Sites Property Management Inc. since 2015. He has spent more than twenty years providing professional management services to the condominium industry in Ontario. As President of City Sites Property Management Inc., he is dedicated to providing outstanding management services to all of the companys clients. Harold is also committed to continually strive to enhance the integrity of the condominium management industry within Ontario. He is a former President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO), serving two terms, as well as the current President and founding member of the National Association of Condominium Managers (NACM). Harold received his RCM accreditation in 2000 and was awarded the RCM of the Year Award and the Presidents Citation for excellence and distinguished service in 2009. Armand heads up the condominium law department of the full service law firm of Shibley Righton LLP, and represents numerous condominium corporations of all types across Ontario.

Armand resides in Toronto, is a Past-President of the Canadian Condominium Institute (Toronto), where he also serves on its Board of Directors and is Chair of the joint ACMO and CCI (Toronto) Legislative Committee, which prepared and submitted an extensive legislative brief to the Ontario government with recommendations for changes to the Condominium Act, 1998 (the "Act").

Armand has been on all the government committees involved in the reform of the Act and was one of 11 people appointed to the government's Expert Panel that conducted the final analysis of the Act. Armand has also been appointed as one of the four founding/first Directors of the newly created Condominium Authority of Ontario.

Armand has written numerous articles for such publications as CCI-T's "Condovoice", ACMO's "CM Magazine" and many other publications. He also lectures at CCI-T's Directors'courses, and has lectured at Humber College. In addition, Armand presents and speaks at various condominium conferences, including the annual ACMO/CCI Conference, PM Expo and SpringFest, and has appeared on television and radio shows to discuss condominium and real estate issues.

Armand is the first lawyer in Ontario to be appointed by the Superior Court as a full Administrator (appointed under the Act), to take over all the duties of the Board of Directors of, and run, troubled corporations. Armand combines his legal education and engineering degree with the hands on experience of having been on the steering committee and then board of directors of a 276 unit condominium corporation for over 5 years. He has extensive condominium, real estate, litigation and business law experience. Having received a Master of Law degree from the Sorbonne (France). Armand is also bilingual

Robin Dafoe, BA, LL.M, MBA

As the CEO and Registrar of the Condominium Authority of Ontario, Robin leads the organization to achieve its strategic vision to be an authoritative source of condo information, to provide tools and resources for resolving issues and condo disputes, and to effectively serve Ontario's growing condominium communities.

From September 2016 to January 2018, Robin provided the strategic leadership to successfully launch the CAO, as well as the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario, the CMRAO, in her capacity as Executive Director and Registrar for both authorities.

Robin has extensive experience in government and has worked in a variety of ministries and agencies. Prior to her tenure at the CAO, she was the Director of Corporate Policy and Tribunal Relations at the Ministry of the Attorney General, where she worked with administrative justice executives across three tribunal clusters to help achieve their modernization goals. She also held senior positions at the Ontario College of Trades, the Education Quality and Accountability Office, Legal Aid Ontario, and the Ontario Heritage Trust. Robin has a Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School, an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, and BA in Law and Psychology from Carleton University.

Constable Dearden is a first class constable with Traffic Services, a division of the Toronto Police Service.He was born in Montreal and is bilingual.

Constable Dearden has over 20 years' experience in policing, including acting as a primary response to police calls. His experience pertains to all manner of criminal activity, including breaking and entering, assault, harassment, theft, trespass to property, and weapons' offences. He has also worked as a school liaison officer where he promoted school safety among primary school students. Constable Dearden was formerly an instructor in use of force (academic and practical) at the Toronto Police College, C.O. Bick, and regularly engaged in active shooter scenarios. More recently, he works in traffic services where he deals with "hit and runs" and motor vehicle collisions in the City of Toronto.He continues to be regularly engaged in safety issues related to persons and property.

Mario Deo is a partner with Fine & Deo Barristers and Solicitors, a firm which focuses its practice on representing condominium corporations. He attended the University of Western Ontario Law School and was called to the bar in 1988.

Mario was the President of CCI Toronto from 2015 – 2016 and has served on the CCI Toronto Chapter Board of Directors since 2005 in a number of capacities including service on the Government Relations, Conference and Communications Committees. In 2006, Mario was the fifth recipient of ACMO's President's award.

Mario is actively involved in the condominium industry and is a frequent presenter at CCI-T courses as well as at the annual CCI-T/ACMO Condominium Conference. Keegan is the CAO's Deputy Registrar and Director, Tribunal Operations and Deputy Registrar and is responsible for leading the CAO's functions and services, including the Condominium Authority Tribunal Online Dispute Resolution process.

Prior to joining the CAO, Keegan spent nearly a decade in Ontario's administrative justice sector, working in many roles at both the Landlord and Tenant Board and Licence Appeal Tribunal. Most recently, Keegan was a Senior Program Consultant with the Ministry of the Attorney General's Agency and Tribunal Relations Division, where he offered support and oversight of the ministry's adjudicative tribunal clusters.

Laura has extensive experience in condominium law and acts for many property managers and condominium corporations in and around the region. Laura also practices in the area of administrative law including landlord and tenant, expropriation, regulatory compliance matters, realty tax assessment appeals and land use planning matters. She has substantial experience in negotiating with counsel to combine a practical and rewarding solution for all parties.

Called to the bar in 2010, Laura is partner with Cohen Highley LLP. She was awarded Business London's Top 20 Under 40 award for 2015. In the community, Laura is actively involved in many volunteer organizations including as a Board member for the Canadian Condominium Institute (London Chapter), Community Living London, and Homes Unlimited (London) Inc.

As part of her practice, Laura provides practical advice to businesses about implementing the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Katherine Gow, RCM

Katherine has worked managing luxury condominium residences in Toronto since 1999. Under her stewardship, managed communities have been recognized by the Canadian Condominium Institute (Great Canadian Condo 2017), the Canadian Condominium Institute (Toronto Chapter, 2012) and received the largest condominium energy efficiency incentive through the City of Toronto's Better Buildings Partnership (2010). Katherine has been involved in many large refurbishment projects including elevator modernization, underground garage repairs, major mechanical retrofit, redecoration and successful resolution of performance audit issues. She joined Crossbridge in 2002 and earned her Registered Condominium Manager (R.C.M.) designation in 2005. Gerard Gransaull, P.Eng.

Gerard is a Director in Building Sciences in the GTA. He graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and has spent the entirety of his career as a building engineering consultant. He has performed thousands of condition assessments on a broad portfolio of building types, in all sectors.

As Canadian Practice Lead for WSP's Building Condition Assessment service line, Gerard leads the team responsible for building inspections for transactional due diligence, capital planning, and Condominium services, including Reserve Fund Studies and Performance Audits.

Harmony sold to Associa® (the largest community management firm in North America) and merged with their Ontario subsidiary MRCM in July 2017.  In Stacey's new role as Client Relations Manager at Maple Ridge Community Management, she transitioned the Harmony staff and Client portfolio to the new MRCM team,  while continuing to foster and develop extraordinary relationships with board members, residents, staff and contractors. 

Stacey has worked in the condominium, real estate, asset and property management industry for over 14 years. Dean McLellan is the Incident Management Specialist with the Elevating and Amusement Devices Safety Program as well as Chief Inspector of Technical Standards and Safety Authority. Dean has 27 years of experience in the ski lift, elevator and amusement ride industries. In 1991, Dean graduated from Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario with a diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Control. Prior to his employment with Technical Standards and Safety Authority, Dean was employed in 1991 by the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations as an elevator inspector, with responsibility for inspection and enforcement under the Elevating and Amusement Device Acts. Dean was also part of the team that helped bring inspectors from the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial relations to Technical Standards and Safety Authority. As chairman of the inspector's working committee he helped facilitate a smooth transition within the two organizations.

Dean is proud to be associated with the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities (NAESA) under which every elevator inspector in Canada is certified. Dean is that past President and still a Board member for the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities and is currently on the Board of Directors as well as Chair of the Board of Certification of NAESA International.

Dean is a member of the National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials (NAARSO). As a Certified Amusement Ride Safety Official, Dean holds a Level 2 certification with supervisor and instructor endorsements. As an instructor for NAARSO, Dean has also endorsed related curriculum. He is a member of the Ontario Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists. He is an Elevating Device Mechanic, Class F (EDM-F) and a Ski Lift Mechanic, Class F. Dean is also an instructor for Technical Standards and Safety's Emergency Response Procedures for Elevating Devices (Firefighters) training program and is an internal Technical Standards and Safety trainer on codes, standards and legislation.

Dean is an active member of several industry related associations and committees, including the Elevating Device Advisory Council, Ski Lift Advisory Council the Association of Provincial Chief Elevator Inspectors, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). Josh is an associate at Lash Condo Law. As the former president of his condo in Toronto, Josh offers a unique perspective when advising condo corporations. Josh's experience spans all things condo, including enforcement issues, shared facilities disputes, drafting or interpreting rules, by-laws and declarations, common expense arrears, and owners' meetings. He also represents condo corporations in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.

Josh's passion for condos started after being appointed to his former Board on a vacancy. Little did he know, this would be the impetus to his future career.

Bill Thompson has worked in property management since 1985. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University. Bill has served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario, and has been an active member on many of its committees.

Bill was amongst the first to attain his R.C.M. designation, and attained his ACCI designation from the Canadian Condominium Institute in June 2000. He is a past President of the Toronto Chapter Board, and currently is the Chairman of the National Executive Board. He has lectured at CCI courses from the Basic and Advanced sessions. He has been a speaker at numerous condominium industry conferences across the country.

Bill's commitment to "raising the bar" has defined his aspirations and his career in property management.

Sally Thompson, who has been practicing since 1990, is a professional engineer with Synergy Partners, an engineering firm which focuses on performance audits, reserve fund studies and building renewal for existing buildings.

Sally is the President of CCI Toronto. CCI focuses on providing quality education to condominium board directors as well as strengthening the condominium industry through programs like CondoSTRENGTH, an initiative that allows directors to share best practices. She is also an active member of the Education Committee and the Conference Committee.

Sally sits on the Tarion Condo Task Force, a committee that advises the Tarion board on issues relating to condominium common elements.

She also sits on a Professional Engineers Ontario committee developing a guideline for Reserve Fund Studies and Performance Audits.

Michael Trendota, B, MBA, CPM, RCM

Michael is a condominium management professional with experience working closely with condominium corporations, board members, and residents. Using his experience building and operating small businesses, he focuses on creating high-performing teams delivering excellent results to owners, residents, and partners. He has experience operating multi-locationproperties with large and diverse teams. Michael holds a Masters of Business Administration from Queen's University, is a Certified Property Manager, and a Registered Condominium Manager.

Sandy Vizely

Sandy Vizely is the Deputy Registrar for the CMRAO and oversees the organization's day-to-day operations, which includes managing the licensing and compliance team. Previously, he served as the CMRAO's policy and programs lead, responsible for the implementation of the CMRAO's licensing program. He also managed the development of the organization's technology build. Before joining the CMRAO, he worked at ServiceOntario as a Senior Business Consultant in the Registry Projects unit.

Sandy received his Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University, and completed the Ontario Post-Graduate Program in Public Administration at Humber College.

Robert has been in condominium management for over 35 years and is currently the President and CEO of Percel Inc. His company currently manages over 80 condominium communities across the GTA, Muskoka, Collingwood and in Blue Mountain, Ontario, comprising over 7,000 units. Robert is a General Licensee as awarded by the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CMRAO).

He received his Professional Associate of the Canadian Condominium Institute (ACCI) designation in 1993 and his RCM designation from ACMO in 1996.He has been a Moderator and Speaker for the ACMO / CCI-T Conference for over 10 years. Robert is an approved ACMO course instructor and is a frequent instructor for the CCI-T Directors Courses. Robert has served as a Director on the Board of ACMO since 2009 and is currently holding the position of Immediate Past President.

Brad Wells, RCM, RPA®

Brad is the Senior Vice President with Wilson, Blanchard Management Inc. working in the Toronto, Waterloo and Hamilton offices. He has been managing condominium corporations and commercial properties for over 17 years achieving the RCM designation ACMO and the RPA® designation from the BOMI. Brad has recently been appointed as a member of the CMRAO Discipline and Discipline Appeals Committees. He has been a speaker at multiple ACMO and CCI events and courses and is an instructor for the ACMO RCM courses at Mohawk College. Brad is very involved in the condominium industry participating as a Director on the Board of the CCI-Grand River Chapter and as Chair of the CCI-GRC Education Committee and while being actively involved with training and mentoring new Property Managers entering the profession.

Debbie Wilson, RCM, ACCI

Debbie has been in the property management business for over 30 years. She just got re-elected to the Board of ACMO where she is on the Executive Committee in the position of Secretary. Debbie also chairs the Regional Committee responsible for education conferences throughout Ontario.

While most of her career as a Property Manager, Regional Vice President, General Manager, Regional Director and New Business Development was in Ottawa, she also worked in Calgary, Edmonton and most recently during the past year in Toronto. Debbie has now returned home to Ottawa. This has provided a rather interesting opportunity to Debbie to see how other cities deal with Condominium Management.

On going education is very important to Debbie so she became a teacher for Mohawk College where she has been teaching the ACMO Condominium Law course to students across Ontario.

It is important to Debbie to give back to the industry as such as has written some articles for the CM Magazine. She has been a speaker previously at the ACMO CCI Toronto Conference, The Ottawa Home Show and various ACMO CCI Regional Conferences in Ottawa, London, Burlington and Kingston.

Antonia Zerbisias

Antonia Zerbisias, B.A., M.B.A., has served on the Board of her condo for more than five years, the last two as President. During this time, Helliwell Place, one of Toronto's oldest condo highrises, has undergone a complete balcony rebuild, a Party Room reno, change room overhauls, and, coming in 2019, a major gym expansion. Because the building is 45 years old, virtually every improvement, either to common areas or individual suites, has posed a structural challenge. Antonia's background is in journalism, both as a columnist at the Toronto Star and on-air at CBC-TV.
